Math:

A-1: He lost $5. The Lady from the flower shop gave him $20 in change, but eventually got $20 back. She broke even. The man who got the haircut gave the barber nothing (except counterfeit money but got $5 back from the Barber. So, the barber lost only $5, and gave a free haircut.

A-2: John wins again. In the first race John ran 100 meters in the time it took Peter to run 95 meters. So, in the second race when Peter is at the 95 meters mark, John will also be there (since 100 - 5 = 95). Since John is faster, he will pass Peter in the last 5 meters of the race.

A-3: 4 Children get 1 each while the fifth child gets the basket with the remaining apple still in it.

A-4: 9 and 1. There are two series, one starting with 10 and going down one number each time, and one starting with 1 and going up one number each time, and one starting with 1 and going up one number each time.


Congrats @flowtides, you did very well with the math quiz. Even though you come about your answer to the race between John and Peter you are correct. GG Me and math sort of don’t get along so mine were not correct, but I tried. So thank you for giving me your answers, it was most appreciated.

Q-1: A man goes into a barber shop and gets a $15 haircut. He pays the barber with a $20 bill, but the barber doesn’t have change because it is an especially slow day. The barber goes to the flower shop next to his own and trades the $20 for one $10 dollar bill and two $5 bills. Then he gives the man his $5 in change. Later, the lady from the flower shop confronts the barber and tells him that the $20 bill he gave her was counterfeit. The barber agrees and he gives the lady a different $20 bill. I re-checked the anagram spelling for #2 and see that it was a typo by them. The #2 anagram had a “T” in the minecraft anagram word verses “D” for Diamonds. The “T” was an error. Good catch @Ryan9116.
Riddles and Brain Teasers - The 1st riddle @LostShrimp13 and @Ryan9116… got correct, yea! Me, naa, I needed to count. I had a 5 letter word, and it was supposed to be 6 … ok, I get it, read the words! For #2, I got breath correct, wow! #3’s doorbell… really. I was way off. @Ryan9116 kudo’s on #4 with taking 2 friends… I missed counting the buyer twice… lol. (Math seems to be involved in my failing, well most it seems). #5 and 6 @LostShrimp13 and I got it correct… nice job (woa, that included me… lol!)
For the “Math Riddles”... yea @Ryan9116, you got almost all correct. The answer to question #4 still has me confused as to why it is giving the count to what twins are which is 2 people but it said you have two twins, one would think it is saying there are 2 sets of twins present not 1 set of twins… so idk… but according to them our answer is wrong, sadly. Also question 3 “math” is also confusing because it states when they meet and also which will be closest… confusing. Yea Ryan, you got it correct no matter what you caught both stated and covered both possibilities. Great job!

Q-1: The beach resort held a contest to guess the number of beach balls in the net bag. Pearl guessed 20, Alex guessed 21, James guessed 22, Dick guessed 17 and Adam guessed 16. One was off by 4, one off by 3, one by 1, one by 2 and one was correct. How many beach balls were there?

The American Flag has been the national flag of the United States since June 14, 1777, with the original thirteen-star version. Since 1777, it has been modified 26 times up to the current 50-star version that was adopted on July 4, 1960.

It is also called the Stars and Stripes, Star-Spangled Banner, and Old Glory.

The 50th star was added to the flag on July 4, 1960, with Hawaii's admission as the 50th state. The Designer of the 50-Star Flag lived in Lancaster, Ohio. In 1958, a history teacher assigned a class assignment to redesign the national flag as both Alaska and Hawaii neared statehood. Robert G. Heft, who was 16 at the time, designed a new flag using the old 48-star flag and $2.87 worth of blue cloth and white iron-on material. His design earned him a B-minus to which he challenged by sending it to Washington D.C. to be considered by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. According to his obituary, Heft was one of thousands to submit a flag design but he was the only person who actually stitched together a flag and shipped it to D.C. Once the flag was selected, Heft's grade was rightfully changed to an A. His design became the official flag in 1960.

The American flag is one of the leading symbols of the United States. Aside from public buildings, most residential houses display the flag. Moreover, it’s become a common motif for badges, clothes, and cars. In retail stores, giant outdoor flags are flown to attract customers.

The official colors of the flag are white, old glory red, and old glory blue. These colors represent liberty and purity (white), valor (red), and justice and loyalty (blue).

There is a special flag code on how the American flag should be displayed, folded and disposed of. Here are some guidelines:

The flag should never touch the ground.
If flown at night, it should be illuminated, if not possible it should be taken down before sunset.
If it becomes tattered and cannot be repaired, it should be destroyed through burning.
It should never be used as apparel for wearing.
In vehicles, it should be affixed on the right side.
Flag patches on US military uniforms are worn on the right shoulder.

Flags are displayed at half-staff or half-mast when the country is in mourning.

It is also used at occasional funerals including military people, civil servants, enforcement officers, firefighters, and US presidents. Prior to the casket being lowered into the ground, the flag is ceremonially folded and given to the survivors of the deceased as a token of respect.

Today, National Flag Day is celebrated in the United States every June 14th.

Sunday fun facts of the 4th of July

The first newspaper to print the Declaration of Independence was the Pennsylvania Evening Post. They didn't waste any time, either. The Declaration was published in the paper's Saturday issue, on July 6, 1776. It was soon published in other newspapers throughout the colonies—and there was even a German translation of it printed in the Pennsylvanischer Staatsbote, which was a newspaper that catered to Pennsylvania's large German population.

Americans Will Enjoy 150 Million Hot Dogs During the 4th
According to the National Sausage and Hot Dog Council (NHDSC), Americans are expected to eat 150 million hot dogs over the July 4th holiday. This is part of an estimated 7 billion that are expected to be eaten during the summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day

There are approximately 16,000 Independence Day fireworks displays that take place each year. America's 4th of July tradition is a bit of a loud one, but iconic nonetheless. According to History.com, the custom dates back to 1777. When we look at the costs, Americans spend over $1 billion on fireworks every 4th of July.

Hospitals receive a surplus of patients on July 4th due to fireworks-related injuries.
In 2020, an estimated 15,600 people were hospitalized with injuries related to fireworks. Learning proper firework handling protocol can help prevent these mishaps.

There are other countries that celebrate America's independence on the Fourth of July.
Countries like Denmark, England, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden all take part in hosting commemorations for the holiday. This is in part to honor their many citizens who emigrated to the U.S., but also as a move to attract tourists.

There are 31 towns in the U.S. that contain the word 'liberty.'
The largest town is Liberty, Missouri, with a population of 32,865.
