If you've been roaming the forums lately, chances are you've stumbled upon at least one of these: This should go without saying, but DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! Someone had to call these things out at some point, and since I hate crypto, crooks, and crypto crooks with a passion, I'll gladly volunteer! These are either alt accounts or other people's compromised accounts/profiles that are being used to promote a fraudulent get-rich-quick ploy on every scammer's favorite, unregulated playground, Telegram. And if you know what's good for you, keep your distance. I report every single one I see, and I know there are others who do the same, and the mods do a good job of keeping them in check, but for every one they ban, another one pops up. Chances are at least one will reply to this thread, in which case, I wish you a pleasant trip back to the shadows of h-e-double hockey stick. Another thing worth noting, these guys are idiots! (although it might just be one guy with alts, or one guy botting alts) The link they post doesn't even work, so I couldn't fall for this scam even if I wanted to as it's impossible to find, and they don't bother to try and find a workaround! And the other stupid thing is that who do they expect to fool on here? This forum is tiny now, and I'm assuming most everyone on it is Internet-savvy enough to instantly recognize these things for what they are-LIES. That's enough ranting from me. Screw crypto scammers, they're the worst. I hope they find a way to crack down on these things even more on here.
Peoples accounts got hacked I believe there was a twitter leak couple weeks back and this is how it's happening that's what I heard not confirmed though. Anyways peoples accounts definitely being hacked there were some with ranks and high levels that were sending it
Essentially it's just a bunch of compromised accounts that are posting these. I suggest everyone changes their password and turns on 2fa. Both of these will ensure your account is secure and prevents things like this from happening. I know myself, and others on the FM team and FMA team are always looking out for these, and deal with them as soon as we see them. A good way y'all can help us is by reporting them through the website. Thanks for posting this thread, so people know about this and don't make any mistakes.
Just Mineplex's Twitter account? Did that include some people's login credentials? I've been shooting these things down right and left, but they're always from profiles with no linked account, or at most, a very low-level one.
Well whenever you see them, go hog wild with reporting them. I like to do both the post and the account for good measure. Effective and satisfying.
I've seen my fair share of these on the forums, and I've already reported a table's worth of them (you're welcome, forum ninjas :D). I don't know how anyone could fall for such a stupid scam anyway lol
I saw one of these things on my Angry Birds thread (https://www.mineplex.com/threads/do-you-think-the-angry-birds-are-nice-birds.239208/#post-822404) where I go over why I think the Angry Birds are great Birds. I reported it and the staff team told me it was compromised advertising and the message got deleted. The thread itself is still alive though.
Which is just how it should be. They are quite good at catching them, and the only thing you could really ask for on top of that is a system that doesn't let you post words like Telegram or crypto, although we're not gonna get that I'm afraid.
Except YouTube lets smart channel owners filter their comments before they go up and automatically ban certain keywords of their choosing.
