Not Planned Rank Display Choice

  1. I've had this idea for awhile, but I believe you should choose what rank you show, for example if you're Eternal you can choose Titan, Legend, Hero, or Ultra to be shown, or you to be shown rankless.

  2. Hmm. I'm not sure how I feel about this. While the ranks are obviously for personal benefit on the server, they are also publicly displayed for marketing purposes. If players see ranks often, they will be more curious about them and look into purchasing one themselves. I don't think it would be beneficial to be able to change the display of the rank you actually have.

  3. I disagree with displaying rank choice because that'd confused a lot of players in-game. What if I saw someone who had an Eternal rank and later quickly changed it to an Ultra rank? Do you think it's necessary to swap to your previous after they upgraded it? No, that's not the way how it'd work like that. The rank supposes to match together in-game and forums. I had a Hero, and Legend ranks way back before I got staff three or four years ago. I upgraded to Legend, and it's impossible for me to switch previous rank titles.

Overall, I don't think this idea should be accepted due to the confusion. -1

  4. Hey mate,

I don’t think I agree with this idea. I think yes, it would be nice to customise your ranks depending on the ones you have purchased/received, but I just don’t see much of a benefit to players. Like stated above, people who may have just joined the server will see people with ranks and wonder what they do, and may consider buying them, so by making it that you can become a no rank, they wouldn’t see people’s ranks. I think one of the best perks of buying a rank is getting a nice coloured tag along with it, and so I feel like if you have Eternal currently for example, you should keep that respective rank title.

I am not totally against the idea, but I don’t see it serving a purpose on Mineplex. It also would confuse players if people could constantly change their rank, and without a cool down, it would flood the chat and make it messy. Thanks for suggesting this to the community though!

    Overall thoughts: -0.5

  5. That's looking it from a marketing point of view, but if you look at it from a player point of view the rank before your name is a cosmetic because other people see it, so if we had more customization it would just be nice.

  6. I don't see why on earth you'd want to display a lower rank, it would just add unnecessary complexity all for little to no benefit that I can see.

    -1 from me

  7. Personally I don't really think this would be a good idea for a few reasons. First of all people buy ranks to show you know what rank they are and what they've purchased. If someone buys ETERNAL and changes their rank to ULTRA what's even the point. Also some abilities that you get for having ETERNAL are not the same with lower ranks such as ULTRA and HERO, some players might get reported or people will get confused about how they could use that ability/gadget if they're not the right rank.

  8. I love this idea. Bedrock gets to change their rank tag, so why shouldn't Java get to? I would love to be able to change my Tag to either Legend or Titan if this were implemented.
But it wouldn't create complications. This would only change what rank tag they had, not the perks.

If you could change you tag without a cooldown, then yes it would be quite confusing. I suppose a cooldown of 30 days would allow players to not get confused with the tag and allow a player to choose the tag they want. Most people can agree that the Eternal tag is pretty ugly but the perks are great, so that's why people buy it. Some people simply refuse to upgrade their rank to Eternal only because of the tag. If we allow players to change tags then Mineplex would receive more money since more players would buy ranks since they can customize it more.

    +1 from me

  9. It would cause extra complexity because it would really just confuse people how would people easily do this? Would it be in the cosmetic menu or the game menu? If so where would we put it in an already crowded menu? These are all unanswered questions

  10. hey!

I see what you mean, but maybe this could be for YT rank only so they dont get targeted

  11. I get why some people would want this but I think it would be confusing and complex. I don't think this would be a good use of our limited resources. I also completely agree with @AyyNick 's points, so I'm going to be a -1 on this idea.

  12. What’s poppin!

As most of the people said above I would have to agree with them. It would be very confusing and complex implementing this idea. To also add on as a personal opinion people would be very confused when they see someone with Hero rank with the perks and benefits as an Eternal. It’s a very interesting concept don’t get me wrong but it would just confuse most of the player base and I don’t see it working out in the future if it was to be implemented.

  13. I don't think this is necessary. If you bought eternal, then what you should be displayed as is eternal. Being able to switch back and forth between ranks would just confuse people and no one would know if someone is actually their rank. Also, I just don't think this has any benefit. Like boom, you changed your rank to legend...now what? Basically what I am saying is that there isn't really a big wow factor that would make this so fun, or cool to have.

  14. Heyo!

Yeah, I don't see the point in this too much. It would most likely be very confusing to new players, and overall not serve much of a point (with this idea in itself). Something I'd propose for your idea would be showing an icon next to the rank, or still showing their top rank next to it (or overall just something to symbolize it, perhaps an * next to somewhere, but this could also get mixed up with PPC). This would create less confusion, but overall be an obnoxious feature. I know Bedrock players have it, but it might be more confusing on Java due to how things work. Good idea however, but I'll just leave this at a +0 for now. Take some feedback into consideration, and hopefully this helped!

  15. Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to write out this idea and sharing it with the community. Unfortunately, at this time, we will be denying the idea. If this were to be implemented, many players would experience lots of confusion. If they saw a member with Titan one day and then Hero the next, they might wonder what they have done to their rank. We currently do not off "rank-downs" to go down to a lower rank, and this might put the wrong idea into a players mind that we do, giving them more confusion than there should be. Additionally, the ranks that people have in-game match what is on the forums. It would be incredibly confusing to see a player with Eternal on the forums but Legend in-game, since it can take some time before the rank syncs up with the website. Finally, Mineplex is a business. When more people have a higher rank, others go and explore into the possibility of getting said rank. For now, it would cause too much confusion and create more problems than it is worth. If you have any further questions or concerns, send me on over a PM.
