What’s the proper way to spell this word?

So is it spelt color or colour?

I personally think it’s color let me know how you think and why?

 

Color is the official way to spell it but I think "colour" is a European version. not sure though. I think the same principle applies to the word variations, "favorite" and "favourite".

I think they're both classed as correct but color is mostly used in the United States. I personally spell it as colour.

When it comes down to it, both are technically spelt correctly. There is however, a variety in spelling due to the differences in American English and British English. The same differences can be seen in words like favorite/favourite (as mentioned above by @le Brownie), and flavor/flavour. I use American English because I'm from the States.

 

In Canada we say "Colour" but i'm pretty sure it's just the U.S that says "Color".
